• Players grow the 3rd skill required for all-round excellence.

When the 3rd skill - the ability to manipulate space - is added to high technical and athletic skills we get all-round excellence. We get teams like Manchester City. Athletes like Roger Federer, Lionel Messi, Stephen Curry create something out of the space between teammates and their opponents - when their technical and athletic skills are not enough. We get to have a bit of fun :)

The 3rd skill is the ability to hold a 3rd person view (birds' eye view) in the mind's eye. A big picture of how all objects in that space are moving relative to each other. To make a micro decision and then hesitate - often just for a milli second - and use the 3rd person mind's eye to see what impact the micro decision had on space and adjust the next micro decision accordingly. And so on in a dance of space between each other. We achieve something others and often ourselves - can't yet see.

There is but.

When  we spend a large amount of time controlling objects around us - we  start to see only objects - doing or not doing as we want. We think we  must focus on the objects. We become blind to the idea of expanding our  view to see the space between objects. We can’t get the 3rd person -  birds' eye - view. We can’t have the 3rd skill required for all-round  excellence. Games Coaching is about helping players to play to develop  the 3rd skill away from any pressure to control objects.

• Our Games Coaches all belong to their governing body called GamesCoaching.ORG
• 7 to 8pm. Loreto College, St Albans, Hatfield Road, St Albans Hertfordshire AL1 3RQ
• It's a shrunken court. About 5 meters shorter. This makes it more about manipulating space and less about athletic ability. Less running. perfect if you have not played for a while.
• Don't  let a lack of money stop you from coming. We ask for £7.50 but you are welcome to pay what you want.
